These terms cover your use of the Mentally Steady website. Using the site means you accept them. Care itself is governed by the agreements you sign as a client, not by this page, and where the two differ your client agreement controls.

This site is not medical care

Everything here, including the program descriptions, the pages written for particular groups, the blog, and the FAQs, is general information. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation, and not medical advice for your situation. Reading it does not make you our client.

A clinical relationship begins only after intake is complete, the required consents are signed, and a clinician has accepted you into care. Joining the waitlist does not create one.

In an emergency, do not use this site

Our forms are not monitored around the clock and nobody is watching for urgent messages. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, at any hour. If someone's safety is at immediate risk, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Where we can provide care

Clinicians are licensed state by state. Ours are licensed in , which means we can only treat people who are physically located in one of those states at the time of a session, including while travelling.

Joining the waitlist does not guarantee that we can accept you as a client. If you are outside the states we serve, we will tell you.

What you send us

Send accurate information, and send only your own. Please keep detailed clinical history out of the web forms. Those details belong in your intake call or the secure channels we set up once you are a client, not in an enquiry form.

Do not use this site to break the law, to try to reach accounts or data that are not yours, or to disrupt the service for anyone else.

Cost and insurance

We do not publish prices on this site, because what you pay depends on your insurance and your plan. You will be told what your sessions cost, and what your coverage does with that, on the intake call before anything is scheduled.

Fees, billing, cancellation, and missed appointments are governed by the client agreement you sign, not by this page.

Our content

The text, design, logo, and graphics on this site belong to Mentally Steady. You are welcome to read them and to share links. Please do not republish the content as your own.

Links to other sites

Where we link out, including to crisis resources, we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Availability

We aim to keep the site available, but we do not promise it will always be up or free of errors, and we may change, suspend, or remove parts of it.

Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Mentally Steady is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of this website or your reliance on information published on it.

Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here limits or excludes liability arising from the professional services we provide to clients. Those are governed by your client agreement and by the professional rules that apply to your clinician.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
